Get ready to be taken apart and put back together in a better way. The Act Like Men Conference is just weeks away!
Look around, what’s so desperately needed where we live are men who embrace all that God created them to be.
Men who are loud and ruthless about their own sin, but patient and full of grace in leading others. Men who long to follow God without limits and meet the needs of those around them without hesitation.
To get there we need radical surgery. It’s time to cut deep and get it all, and not be afraid of what that means. We challenge you to join thousands of men for a two-day conference this fall-to step up with us and Act Like Men.
Visit ActLikeMen.com for the details.
– We are all creative, every one of us.
– Take time to listen, then listen some more.
– Quit thinking about what God has put on your heart — do it.
– Be available, take risks, prepare to “Go Big”. Stop letting yourself stall out.
– Communicate clearly, know who you are communicating with.
– Take time for others. Know their name. That is a start to a new conversation and relationship.
– Fatherlessness is killing the U.S. What can you do about it? TheMentoringProject.org
– Tell a better story, people are rarely moved by stats and goals but by a STORY. — Donald Miller
– Go Big or Go Home – Help others execute their big vision. Your big vision will come and then you will be ready.
– Have a strategy, a plan, execute it, measure it and revise it. (repeat)
– We are not the hero. Jesus is.
Had a great time at the Echo Conference this year. Met some great people with common vision and goals. Loved sharing thoughts and ideas with peers and hearing from those who are in our world everyday. Love seeing the movement of the church and how it is again becoming less and less about the medium and more and more about the Message.

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named… be strengthened with power through His spirit in you and the Messiah may dwell in your hearts through faith.”
Thank you for today. You are our Father and you only want the best for us. Sometimes you let us see it through our choices or possible choices. Our hearts can be filled with so many things. Thank for time enough to slow down to make sure it is you.
Sitting Poolside at The Woodlands Resort and Conference Center. Beautiful place.

||“Preview is now up to 2X faster, better text selection in PDF (using a “little bit of AI”). Better Chinese text input, just like on the iPhone — uses the trackpad to draw characters.”
“Apple has come from a different place — they love Leopard and wanted to build upon it. They set a challenge for themselves to build a better Leopard — lots of refinement, powerful new technologies, and Exchange support.”
||“Microsoft is trying to get out of the hole they’re in with Windows 7. However, they have the same set of problems as before; registry, DLLs, defragmentation, etc. Windows 7 introduces even more complexity.”

Myra and I got our tickets to this Friday’s Hillsong United Conference. Pumped about checking out these guys. Watched their television program for the first time a few weeks back. Talk about serious quality. Video, worship, message, style, all of the above; excellent. Justin Keller gave me the heads up a month or so back. Even better, planning on heading out to Australia next year to catch them in their home town. How nice would that be? Ok, maybe I’m just praying to go at this point.
It’s still early, grab your tickets and join us Friday night and all day Saturday. Now we got to get Dave, Stan, Chris and Duncan to head down with us. Ready to check out Carl Lentz from the Wave Church, Virginia Beach, VA, Joel Houston the Creative Director at Hillsong Church, Phil Dooley, Chrishan Jeyaratnam Youth Pastor at Hillsong. The past few years has been an amazing time of learning, new experiences and impact. I thank God that He kicks us in the butt sometimes and let’s us know that we are missing it. We always need to continue learn, we always must be equally comitted to making an impact in our community and where ever God leads.
